DeepFake is doing pretty well!
Deepfakes, acording to Wikipedia are synthetic media in which a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else's likeness.
Not so long ago big porn sites, including Eporner.com, have unanimously declared they will not tolerate the phenomenon known as DeepFake, i.e. the digital depiction of celebrities on the faces of porn actresses. All the more that the effects of these activities look quite realistic and quite a few naive internet users would swear blind that they were dealing with a real “sex tape”.
As you might have guessed, the problem has not disappeared at all, nor has the need for such materials. Meanwhile, technology has developed, and despite the lack of support from pornographic giants, movies on the web are already so realistic that even the most sceptical viewer would believe that this was actually a known person.
At the same time, there is also a growing community of people who specialize in creating “faked" movies with known faces. These materials are mainly distributed via Twitter (despite the ban) and Reddit, and there is no indication that this trend will disappear from the network.
